Little
Learner's Preschool
Mission
Statement:
The Little Learner's
Preschool is committed to providing a safe learning experience for each child
in preparation for early success and school readiness. Little Learner's
Preschool provides a learning environment that supports children to develop the
strengths and skills necessary for them to construct their own knowledge and
prepare them for kindergarten.
Guided by high
expectations coupled with the knowledge that all children learn at different
levels and speeds, my preschool will provide students with a broad range of
educational and fun opportunities that will help each child learn to the best
of his or her abilities. I will strive to develop literacy skills as well as
provide experiences that enrich each child's social, emotional, physical,
intellectual, and creative abilities.
Children will have a
safe, wholesome, nurturing educational experience. Children will be in a safe
learning environment in which children can solve problems and express their
feelings through words, art and other creative areas.

Tuition is $75.00 a month
for the three year old classes and $85.00 a month for the four year old

the tuition for September is due August 25th. If your students tuition is not
paid by the 1st of the month there will be a $5.00 late fee added to that month’s
tuition. If your tuition is not paid by the 5th of the month there will be a $20.00 late fee added to that month's tuition. Please be responsible and make sure that your tuition is paid on time,
I would hate to have to track you down and remind you to pay .

the form of cash or check. Please make all checks payable to Kristina Gollaher.
If there is a returned check fee for non sufficient funds then you will be
charged an additional $25.00 to cover the fee in my account.
When sending money to
school with your student, please put it in an envelope and label it with your
child's first and last name. This way I can make sure to give the credit to the
correct student.

registration form there will be a $45.00 processing and supply fee due. This
fee is non-refundable.
If your student begins
class during the middle of the month that months tuition will be prorated.
There will be no refund for early withdrawal from Little Learner's Preschool. A
30 day notice for withdrawal is greatly appreciated if you will be removing
your child from the preschool before the school year is over, this gives me
time to notify someone on the waiting list of an opening.
If your student is sick
and misses school you will not be reimbursed tuition.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Procedures:
Drop Off: I
will be at the front door five minutes before your child's class start time.
When your child arrives they are welcome to enter the house and remove shoes
and jackets once inside. (Please make sure that your child can tie their own
shoes, or have them wear shoes that can be slipped on and off easily. I am more
than willing to help with shoes if I need to but it can be time consuming if I
have to help all of them). Please try and arrive on time as this is respectful
to me and the other student’s time.
Pick Up: When
class is over I will open the door for your children to leave. I will wait with
them until you have picked them up. Please try and pick up your child no more than
five minutes after class is over. I have a schedule that I need to follow in
order to be ready for other classes and if you are late picking up your child
then it causes me to be late also. If you are continuously late then your
child's spot in the preschool may be terminated.
As a courtesy to my
neighbors, please don't park in their driveways or block them in any way. I
will not be held responsible for students crossing the street while coming or
leaving the school.
If your student will be
either late to class more than five minutes or you will be late picking them up
more than five minutes then please call me and make prior arrangements and let
me know ahead of time.
Sick Days &
Absences:
Please notify me ahead of
time if your student will be absent. You can either text me or email me.
Refunds will not be given for absences. If you know that your child will be
gone for more than a week of school at a time please let me know and I will do my
best to get them their assignments and or projects that they can work on at
home.
Teacher Absences: If by
chance I get sick and we miss a class because of my illness then we will make
up that day. If I am sick for longer and I can't find a substitute then I will
refund those days back to you.
General guidelines for
keeping your child home if they are sick:
1. If your child has a
fever at all or throwing up then they are not allowed in the preschool.
2. If your child has a
runny nose or a cough then they are not allowed in the preschool.
3. If your child has been
sick but has been on medication for at least 48 hours with something that can
be contagious then they will only be allowed back with a doctor’s note stating that
they are no longer contagious to others (example, strep cold, or flu).
4. If your child has a
rash of any kind or head lice then they are not allowed in the preschool.
5. If your child has any
disease such as chicken pox or something similar then they are not allow in the
preschool.
If your child becomes
sick while at school then you will be called to come and pick them up. If your
child experiences any of the above guidelines for keeping your child home if
they are sick then you will be called to come and pick up your child.
Please use caution when
determining whether or not to keep your child home if they are sick. It is not
fair to me or other students if your child comes to school while sick and
infects others. If you have any questions about whether or not to send your
child then please feel free to call me ahead of time.
Curriculum:
Little Learner's
Preschool follows the Utah Core Curriculum for preschool. You can find the Utah
Core Curriculum at UEN.org. The lesson plans that I use in my classroom are
both teacher directed and student directed learning. I believe that students
learn best when they get hands on experiences.
The 3
Year Old Classes: The 3 year old classes will focus on sharing,
following directions, cooperative playing, and classroom respect.
Children will learn the basics of how school works. (raising hands,
transitions between activities, cleaning up, sitting at the rug, snack time
manners and routines). We do a lot of activities to work on fine and gross
motor development. These are usually incorporated into the other areas of
learning. Everything we do has a purpose, no matter how simple the
activity/craft may be. They will learn colors and shapes through songs and
crafts. Children will learn to recognize and identify the ABCs and their
sounds through stories, songs, poems and crafts. We do a lot of games that help
teach letters and numbers. Children will count daily. We focus on identifying
numbers to 10, but we count and see the numbers up to 31 during calendar time.
Science and social studies are taught through the themes of the week.
Children
learn to read by being read to. We will read many stories in the classroom.
The 4
Year Old Class: The 4 year old class will do all the above, but
in more depth. This class will focus on getting ready for Kindergarten. Through
teacher directed and child directed activities we will learn the ABCs, sounds,
rhyming, vocabulary, comprehension, beginning reading, and handwriting. We will also learn sight words. Children will
have monthly "homework" packets that they will be given at the
beginning of the month to work on throughout the month. They will be due at the
end of the month and students will be rewarded for turning it in. Take home
books will come home in January. Please help your child read the book, or read it to them so they can familiarize them self with it. Completing the homework drastically
improves the children's readiness in reading.
