Daily Schedule

In our class we will be discussing different themes throughout the year. Our lessons have been planned around these themes along with a couple of field trips.

Themes each month:

September- All about me, Apples(Johnny Appleseed), Fall
October- Community helpers, Hygiene, Transportation, Pumpkins & Halloween
November- Nutrition, Fire safety, Pilgrims & Indians, Thanksgiving
December- Friendship, Families, Christmas
January- Winter, Snow, Martin Luther King(kindness), Polar animals
February- Groundhogs Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Teeth
March- Dr. Seuss, Weather, St. Patrick's Day, Spring
April- Easter, Bugs, Animals
May- Farm, Mother's Day, Plants & flowers

I have put together a schedule that we will follow for each class. The schedule is something that will keep us on track and give you an idea of what is being taught in the classroom. While I try and stay on schedule there maybe a time or two that we may need to deviate or change the schedule. However I don't expect this to happen very often if at all.





Daily Schedule

4 year old class am/pm

9:00/11:30   Arrive at School- remove shoes, jackets and backpacks
9:05/11:35  Circle Time- Calendar- We will go over the days of the week, count the days, and review the months. Weather- We go over the weather for that day. Pledge of Allegiance- We will learn the Pledge of Allegiance. Show and Tell- This will be on the last day of the week of class. Birthdays- We will sing happy birthday to your child on their special day.
9:15/11:45   Letter Lesson & Letter Book- Introduce the letter of the week/along with phonemic activities: learning the sound, learning how to write the letter, and recognizing the individual letters of the alphabet. 
10:00/12:30   Fine & Gross Motor Skill Practice - Teacher guided letter activity and writing practice. 
10:25/12:55  Snack/bathroom break
10:35/1:05  Circle Time & Weekly Theme- Discuss weekly theme. Teacher story that goes with theme. Discussion as a class about the theme and book. How does it relate to our life, family and community?
11:00/1:30 Art Project/Activity- Art project or activity that goes along with the weekly theme.
11:35/1:55  Math Practice- Counting, patterns, more/less, same/different, add/take away, size and shapes.
11:55/2:25 Get ready to go- shoes, backpacks, and coats on.
12:00/2:30  Meet Parents Outside.




3 year old class am/pm
